St. Mary Parish Council

The St.Mary Parish Council (SMPC) is the local Planning Authority for the parish of St.Mary.

Mission Statement
To promote sustainable social, physical and economic development aimed at enhancing and protecting the life and property the life and property of individuals and communities.

Vision
To see St.Mary develop in a manner that is sustainable, promotes economic development and ultimately improve the quality of life of its citizenry through the participation and cooperation of communities, agencies and NGO’S.

GOALS
         To spearhead and implement plans and initiatives to promote the orderly and sustainable development of St.Mary.
         To deliver municipal services efficiently and effectively.
         To facilitate the development of a strong, viable, participatory and vibrant system of local government.
         To facilitate as well as monitor the development of land to ensure conformity with planning, environmental management, public health and safety and disaster management guidelines.

Physical Planning, infrastructure development and maintenance.
         Working with various partners in the preparation of development plans
         Maintaining infrastructure such as parochial roads, cemeteries, parks, drains, and gullies
         Disasters migration / relief planning and coordination
